Lesley O'Brien - Part 1: Help Save Carlton Studios
In this special episode of Jim & Pat's Glasgow West End Chat Jim speaks to storyteller, poet, singer, songwriter and all-round magical person Lesley O'Brien about the threat to one of Glasgow's best-loved music studios.
Carlton Studios will close if enough money cannot be raised to see it through the lockdown. With no financial help from the government, it is up to Glasgow's community of arts and music lovers and friends to keep the studio open until it can start earning its own keep again.
if Carlton closes it means a loss of income for many workers, including cleaners, café staff, music tutors, sound engineers, filmmaker and studio assistants.
Lesley talks about the studio's history and tells us how we can keep this well-loved institution open.

Jim & Pat's Glasgow West End Chat - Episode 81
Sarah Kudirka is an award winning contemporary artist based in Glasgow. We were enchanted by her work, which is about shapes and edges of things: objects, buildings and words.
Her Polaroid City Skies series is about walking and looking up at the sky between tall buildings - in London, Berlin, Glasgow, Sydney and Hong Kong.
Sarah also works as a creative consultant with architects and engineers on global projects.
You can see Sarahs vivid and unique work at the Wasps Winter Artists and Makers Market, The Briggait Saturday 7 December. Don't miss it - I can recommend it.

Jim & Pat's Glasgow West End Chat - Episode 78
I had a great chat with my cousin Marian Colquhoun, the Head of Props at Scottish Opera. I found out how Marian worked her way to the top of the theatrical props tree (so to speak) - while we swapped a few family stories along the way. My conclusion; the most desirable job in the arts is the perfect fit for the nicest person I've ever met. :-)
